Kayla Kirk — Wedding + Elopement Photographer
I am a Tennessee native currently living in Scotland with my sweet husband, John David. It’s no secret to those who know me that I’ve dreamed of moving abroad for some time now and the fact that I get to experience this alongside my best guy is more than I could’ve imagined. We shared our vows during the summer of 2018 and this is by far the start of our biggest adventure yet. In our free time you can find us nose-deep in a book, exploring new places, and working on our coffee craft.
My photography journey first began in high school when I signed up for a class as an elective. I quickly fell in love and found myself shooting my first wedding at sixteen. Fast forward eight years later and this love has only grown. I never imagined all the couples I would have the privilege to document and serve! I’m no stranger to traveling, so if your wedding is somewhere across the globe, don’t hesitate to reach out! Odds are, your destination is on my list.
Photography is more to me than simply a photograph — it’s an opportunity for connection. It’s a way in which we relive tangible moments, celebrate milestones, and share our lives. Your story is immeasurably valuable and photos play a vital role in how it’s told.
What continually inspires me in my work is light, those small details, and authentic moments. My approach on a wedding day is documentary and artistic. I believe in taking a step back, allowing a non-invasive and un-posed experience for most of the day because there is so much beauty naturally unfolding. I’m here to make you feel seen, true to yourself, and celebrated as you begin your grand adventure with your love. At the heart of my work, my desire is to best serve you. I would love to get to know you and hear more about your wedding day or special season to document.
